Job Description
Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols while ensuring image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow.
Complete patient screening, exam documentation, and image verification in RIS and PACS to support timely physician interpretation.
Maintain high standards of image quality, productivity, and patient throughput.
Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
Adhere to all MRI safety protocols, including zone safety procedures, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices.
Utilize the SHIELD reporting platform to document and escalate events outside of normal clinical encounters.
Follow all departmental policies, modality standards, and organizational compliance requirements.
Perform routine equipment quality control checks and assist with troubleshooting and service ticket submission as needed.
Support onboarding, training, and education of staff and students.
Foster a positive, collaborative work and learning environment.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and patient, employee, and physician satisfaction.
Attend staff meetings, in-services, lunch-and-learns, and quality improvement meetings.
Maintain a professional demeanor in appearance, communication, and conduct.
Additional Job Description
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
Experience/Skills: 1+ years, General MRI exams, implants, elastography, and defecography. Rotate to other locations as needed for training/staffing.
Registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) in MRI.
Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Must be familiar with age-specific criteria.
Must obtain registry within 1 year of hire.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
